Nevada City Inn is located close to everything in the northern California Gold Rush area as well as services, eateries, historical monuments, state parks, etc. The staff is friendly and helpful. Grounds are lovingly pruned and appointed. It is a darling little motor inn. We'd definitely stay there again.
They could spend a little money to replace faded window treatments and maybe even carpeting.

The price.
It was a little run-down, but the rooms were clean.

The good outweighs the bad (barely)
The location is beautiful and the staff was genuinely friendly, making the stay somewhat enjoyable.
Unfortunately, cleanliness was severely lacking, with reports of mold and pest issues, made it uncomfortable.

Our room was between two rooms, and had very thin walls separating these rooms. We could hear the drunken party, that was happening next door, until well after midnight, which prevented us from getting much sleep. We suggest they establish a quiet hour (say 10:00 PM) so other quests could sleep. Other than that, on a scale of 1 thru 10 we would give, room 27, a 2. Maybe some of the cottages without ajoining rooms would be better.

More comfortable seating in the room would be helpful.

I liked the location where it was near great shopping, great restaurants, near hiking trails, our relatives. All that was needed in the room was included. It was very quiet with privacy. Walking distance to many things I just mentioned. Very nice staff. Continental breakfast was nice. I would stay at Nevada City Inn again.
